Specific Duties and Responsibilities :
OPERATING ROOM
- Acts as a scrub nurse during the operation and the activities include the following : hand scrubbing, gowning, gloving, serving the gown and gloves to other members of the surgical team, performs sponge and instruments count before and after the procedure and anticipates the needs of the surgeon by serving the needed instruments during the operation while maintaining the aseptic technique throughout the operation.

- Takes vital signs and records
- Observes medical asepsis
- Takes visual acuity of the patient upon arrival in the clinic
- Reports observations to physician
- Observes and responds to patients emotional, spiritual needs
- Carries out legal doctors order
- Assist physicians when examining patients
- Gives health teachings to patient and family members
- Maintains good relationship with other clinic/hospital personnel
- Attends to seminars and meetings, conferences
- Assist in explanation of product and services to patients(pre and post treatment)
