    MAHARASHTRA STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST FOR LECTURESHIP (SET)
    SUNDAY, 17TH FEBRUARY
    CONDUCTED BY UNIVERSITY OF PUNE (AS STATE AGENCY)

    University of Pune, as State Agency will conduct 29th SET examination at Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Nasik, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Nanded, Amravati, Nagpur, Solapur, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Panaji (Goa) centres on Sunday, 17th February 2013. The forms will be available only “online” on the website from 11th December 2012 2012 from 11.00 a.m. onwards to 31st December 2012 till 6.00 p.m.

    Candidates should fill up the online application form and submit it online. After online submission, a hard copy of the downloaded application form alongwith SET UNIT COPY of Bank Challan & (attested copies of ) Final year Mark List of Master’s degree or P.G. Diploma of equivalent examination ( in case of candidates who have passed Master's degree), Marriage Certificate/Gazette copy (in case of any change in name), Caste Certificate/Validity Certificate issued by Competent Authority from Maharastra supporting the claim, Valid Non creamylayer certificate for OBC/DT/NT/SBC category candidates, Medical certificate given by Competent Authority in prescribed format in case of Visually/Blind or Physically Handicapped candidates must be sent to the respective Contact Persons of the SET Examination Centers by hand or by post in an envelope of size 36cm x 25cm (Addresses of Contact Persons are mentioned on the SET Examination website).

    EXAMINATION FEE :
    1) For General Candidate - Rs.550/-(Including form Processing Fee)
    2) For S.C./S.T./P.H./V.H. - Rs.450/-(Including form Processing Fee)
    3) For O.B.C./D.T./N.T./S.B.C.- (Only Non-Creamy Layer) - Rs.450/-(Including form Processing Fee)

    The examination fees should be paid by a challan at any branch of HDFC Bank or Bank of Maharashtra. Before submitting the hard copy of the application form, the candidate must keep the Photo copy of the application form and candidate’s copy of Challan with them. Candidate should send only one application form in one envelope.

    Eligibility Criteria :
    a) The candidates must have Master's Degree or P.G. Diploma from an institution recognized by U.G.C.

    b) The candidates other than SC/ST category who have secured atleast 55% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Master's or equivalent examination, are eligible for this test. SC/ST/PH/VH (PH-Physically Handicapped. VH-Visually Handicapped i.e. Blind) category candidates who have secured atleast 50% marks(without gracing or rounding off ) in Master's or equivalent examination are eligible for this test.

    c) The candidates who are studying in the first year of two years Masters course or in first two semesters of a four semesters course of Master's Degree are not eligible to appear for this test.

    d) Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master”s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted for the SET Examination provisionally. Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

    e) Candidates with Post-graduate Diploma/Certificate(s), should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their course(s) with Master's degree of recognized Indian Universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.(www.aiuweb.org)

    f) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying (final) master's degree examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible to apply for the SET Examination. Those candidate who cleared SET Examination will be issued the certificate after they have passed their Master's Degree examination or equivalent examination with atleast 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates) and submit their P.G. Mark sheet within two years from the date of declaration of result of the SET examination.

    g) Candidates can appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only.

    h) Candidates should note that their candidature is provisional. Their candidature will be deemed final upon verification of eligibility condition with reference to the documents enclosed with their application or as may be called for from time to time.

    i) To apply for the SET there is no upper age limit.

    j) As per the U.G.C. Rules the candidates who have passed M.Sc.( by Research) are not eligible to appear for the SET Exam. .

    k) The SET agency will not issue any mark sheet to qualified/not qualified candidate. Also no revaluation of papers is allowed for SET Examination. The SET Unit will issue certificate to qualifying candidates only.

    l) OBC/SBC/DT/NT (Non Creamy Layer) candidates must enclose attested copy of the caste certificate and the latest valid non creamy layer certificate.( for current financial year.) The certificate must be in candidate’s own name only. OBC/SBC/DT/NT candidates will be considered as GENERAL Category if they do not produce the OBC/SBC/DT/NT Caste Certificate and the latest non creamy layer certificate alongwith the application form.

    EXEMPTION (ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURESHIP)

    (a) Exemption from SET will be as per decisions taken by the U.G.C. and State Government from time to time.

    What is the application fee for SC category candidates?

    Application Fee:
    1. Open Category (General) - 550.00/-
    2. SC/ST//PH/VH - 450.00/-
    3. OBC/SBC/DT/NT (Only Non Creamy layer)* - 450.00/-
    4. OBC/SBC/DT/NT (Creamy layer) - 550.00/-

    * Candidate should Attach an attested valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate. The certificate must be in candidate's own name and not in father's or husband's name.

    What are the documents required to attach with the application form?

    Documents Required:
    Application forms are available only on website http://setexam.unipune.ac.in . Candidates have to fill the form online and draw a hard copy of the same after online submission and submit it to the concerned center.

    Copies of the following attested documents must be enclosed alongwith the application form:
    1. Original SET UNIT COPY of Bank Challan.
    2. Final Year Mark list of Master's Degree or P.G. Diploma of equivalent examination (in case of candidates who have passed Master's Degree)
    3. Marriage certificate/Gazette Copy (in case of any change in name)
    4. Caste Certificate/Validity Certificate issued by Competent Authority from Maharashtra supporting the claim.

    ** Acceptance of the form and the fees does not guarantee eligibility for appearing for the test. Eligibility criteria have to be fulfilled by the applicant. Permission to appear for the Test is provisional till such time the candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria. .
