Department of Chemistry is organizing the 24th ‘CHEMIAD Competition’ for first year BSc Students (opting Chemistry as a subject) on 20th January 2013 (1:00 to 3:00 pm). The aim of this competition is to create interest about Chemistry in young minds. We are receiving a huge response for this competition since past 23 years. Last year, 4500 students actively participated in this competition. Please note that this activity is entirely on voluntary basis.
Kindly appoint two teachers from Department of Chemistry of your college to look after this activity on your college part. Details information and instructions are enclosed along this letter. Kindly forward this letter to respective teachers for further action.

Important instructions :
1. Participating college please download form No-1 from the unipune.ac.in (scrolling links on homepage of University of Pune). Kindly appoint two teachers as ‘CHEMIAD Teachers in charge’ to look after this activity on the college part.
2. Participating colleges are requested to download form No-1 from & 2 from www.unipune.ac.in (from scrolling messages on homepage of University). Complete the form No-1 and post it to, Coordinator CHEMIAD, Department of Chemistry, University of Pune, Pune 411007 before 5th Jan 2012.
3. CHEMIAD Teacher in Charges are requested to collect the participation fees of interested students at the rate of Rs. 60/- per student and enter names of participating students in Form No-2. Save the file in doc/docx format and email this file as an attachment to ajit@chem.unipune.ac.in (kindly do not change attributes like font, font size and colours of this file, do not fill columns like roll no & OMR No).
4. Kindly deposit participation fees @ Rs. 55/- per student in the office of Coordinator, CHEMIAD, Department of Chemistry, University of Pune. A receipt against this amount will be immediately provided. Participation fees in cash only will be accepted in the office of Department of Chemistry from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm up to 10th of Jan 2013.
5. Retain amount of Rs. 5/- per student. Teacher In charges are authorised to use this amount for preparing for conduct of examination. Kindly note that this amount is for miscellaneous works for example putting roll numbers and cleaning of exam hall on the day of examination.
6. University CHEMIAD Coordinator will appoint and send an Exam officer to each exam center, which will carry Question papers and other related material on the date of examination. The travel and other permissible expenses will be borne by CHEMIAD coordination committee.
7. Teachers from colleges assisting CHEMIAD examination process will receive ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ on the day of examination.
8. Each student participant will receive a ‘Participation Certificate’ on the day of examination.
9. Colleges enrolling more than 40 students will be declared as exam center. However teachers can ask for a separate center at their college for some genuine reasons.
10. Student participants, who really cannot afford participation fees, will be waved off. Teacher in charges are requested to identify such students and recommend their names to Coordinator by special communication upon confirmation of truthfulness of the case. Final decision in this case will be taken by CHEMIAD Coordinator.
