Engagement of Legal Retainers on contract basis.

The Central Information Commission has been created under the Right to Information Act 2005 for adjudication of appeals and complaints under the said Act. The Commission seeks to engage on contract basis upto 16 young law graduates.

Consolidated sum : Rs. 25, 000/ p.m.

Qualification : Law graduates [from a recognized University or equivalent];

Functions :
(a) Preparing case briefs and identification of the legal issues.
(b) Legal research.
(c) Preparing counters for writ petitions.
(d) Any other legal work assigned by the Commission.

Selection : The selection shall be made on the basis of an interview by a Selection Committee. The engagement shall be on contract basis initially for a period of one year which may be extended for a maximum further period of two years at the discretion of the Competent Authority in the Commission subject to satisfactory performance of such person.

Note :
The contract of legal retainers engaged may be terminated at any time by the Commission without assigning any reason by giving a notice of 15 days. In case, a legal retainer intends to leave during the period of the contract, he/she is required to give a notice in writing of atleast 15 days in advance.
