Job Description
Provides engineering support to the production and maintenance employees involved in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading the control systems. Evaluate new technology and recommend upgrades to systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operation. Evaluate new technology and trends in advanced control applications and recommend to deploy in the plant to optimize the operation. Contributes to the preparation of engineering design packages for plant modification and projects. Ensure that the accurate and recent system documents are maintained.
To support the manufacturing departments daily in resolving plant and process control systems problems to ensure the safe and efficient plant operation.
Coordinates all hardware are software activities on the control systems. Investigates and documents all unscheduled shutdowns and plant interruptions caused by the control systems.
Verify and ensure the correct implementation of the plant modification as per the design package in accordance with the national and international standards.
Verify new projects and modifications prior to handover to the production to assure compliance with the approved design package.
Check and approve the Process Control and Control Systems related documentation.
Coordinate with control system vendor.
Prepare and Participate in any type of testing or site verification, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up to ensure proper compliance.

Desired Candidate Profile
Skills
Hands-on experience on Honeywell or Foxboro DCS.
Well conversant with plant logics, sequences and complex loops. Can modify and implement in the system.
Support and develop DCS and PLC based applications and Graphics Implementation.
Keep abreast of industry developments and recognize the potential for economic implementation of innovative ideas as a means of increasing operational safety or reliability
Have previous experience of specification writing, technical negotiation, design approval and acceptance testing of control systems
Familiar with Safety Instrumented System (SIS) standards and implementation

Mini Project : OP-AMP Based Trainer Kit
Our project was to make an OP-Amp trainer kit which could help students easily find the output of various OP-AMP based circuits such as Differential Amplifier, Differentiator, Integrator and few others. The Gain of these circuits could be changed by changing the resistance and capacitance values, with the help of control knobs. Successfully completing this project in a team of 4 members helped me enhance my communication and team working skills.
Main Project : RF-ID Based Security System.
We successfully designed and fabricated a Non-Contact type security system which enabled the ID card holder to simply walk through a RF-ID field in order to be granted or rejected entry into a room. Details of the card holder were stored in a microcontroller placed within the ID card. Details of the person will be sent to a master computer, that will decide to grant permission or not. The master computer’s display will show the card holder’s details.

During summer break of my Bachelor’s degree, I got the opportunity to undergo Industrial Training at TCC Ltd. I had the privilege and opportunity to see in real, all the instruments and control methods that I had only studied from text books. The practical knowledge and experience gained during this training period helped me understand my modules of study and have a wider perspective of the topics being taught in the course.
