Integrated Ph. D. Programme - Admissions for August 2013

Applications are invited from highly motivated students for admission to the Integrated Ph.D. Programme starting from August 2013 at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research – Thiruvananthapuram (IISER-TVM).

Research areas : Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics

Eligibility :
i) Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related areas.
ii) Minimum 55 % or CGPA of 6.0 (in 10 point scale).
iii) For Physics, applicants should have cleared the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST)-2013.

Application fee : Challan can be downloaded from the website.
GENERAL/OBC : Rs. 200/-
SC/ST : Rs. 100/-

How to Apply :
i) Only online applications acceptable; Last date : 04 January 2013 [17:00 IST]

ii) On submission of the online application form, the applicants will receive an acknowledgment email (to the email address provided by the applicant) with an unique number and the PDF file of the application form.

Important Dates :
i) Last date of receipt of the application form January 4, 2013 (17 :00 hrs [IST])
ii) Announcement of shortlisted candidates on the Institute website : January 9, 2013
iii) Written test in Biological, Chemical and Mathematical Sciences : Forenoon of February 16, 2013
iv) Interview for the shortlisted candidates in Biological, Chemical, Mathematical Sciences : February 16 – 17, 2013
v) Interview for the JEST-2013 qualified candidates in Physical Sciences : Will be announced later

Note :
a) Short-listed applicants will be invited for an aptitude-test/interview at IISER-TVM.

b) Please note the Journal number, date of remittance and SBI branch code number in which the application fee was paid. You need to fill these in the online application

c) All applicants have to upload the following documents (in JPG/GIF format and each not exceeding 1 MByte, 100dpi) along with the online application;
** Scanned copy of the recent passport size photograph
** Scanned copy of proof of Date of Birth (Birth certificate, X Standard Certificate or Passport)
** Scanned copy of applicants' signature
** Scanned copy of XII standard board examination
** Scanned copy of the proof of SC/ST Community Certificate
