I. Essential Qualifications : (For the posts of Agriculture, Home Science and Fisheries Faculties)
A) Professor/Chief Scientist :
1. Doctoral degree in the relevant subject including relevant basic sciences.
2. 10 years experience in the relevant subject out of which at least 8 years should be as Assistant Professor or in an equivalent position in the pay band-3 of Rs.15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400 / Rs.6000 / Rs.7000 / Rs.8000 and 2 years as an Associate Professor or in an equivalent position in the Pay Band – 4 of Rs. 37400-67000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8700 / Rs. 9000.
3. The candidate should have made contribution to research/teaching/ extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.

B.Associate Professor / Programme Coordinator :
Doctoral degree in relevant subject with 8 years experience as Assistant Professor or in an equivalent position, recruited in the pay-band 3 of Rs. 15600-39100 (pre-revised 8000-13500) with Grade Pay of Rs.5400 / Rs. 6000 / Rs.7000 / Rs. 8000 having made contribution to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.

C.Assistant Professor /Subject Matter Specialist (Sms) Including Sms Of Veterinary Science :
1. Master's Degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign university.
2. For the candidates having Master's degree, NET shall remain compulsory alongwith one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted. Essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations, 2009 (and also as per ICAR letter No. 23(46)/2010-EQR (Edn.) dated 26th December, 2011, issued by ADG (EQR)), and the candidate has at least two full length publications in a recognized reputed referred journal of a registered society, listed in NAAS, on the last date of submission of application. Those candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption.

II. Essential Qualifications : (For the posts of Engineering, Dairy and Food Science Technology Faculties)
A) Professor/Chief Scientist : Bachelor's and Master's Degree in relevant branch of Engineering / Technology with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelor's or Master's degree and Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline.

B) Associate Professor / Programme Coordinator : Bachelor's and Master's Degree in relevant branch of Engineering / Technology with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelor's or Master's degree and Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline.

C) Assistant Professor /Subject Matter Specialist (Sms) : Bachelor's and Master's Degree in relevant branch of Engineering / Technology with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
