Applications are invited in the prescribed form on or before 4th January, 2013 (up to 4.00 P.M.) from the Indian citizens for a Competitive Examination to be held in Kolkata for recruitment to the post of Assistant Analyst in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Two panels-one main panel against declared vacancies and one supplementary panel against subsequent vacancies that may occur from time to time during the validity of such panel will be prepared in order of merit on the result of the Recruitment Examinations. These panels will remain valid for one year only from the date of its publication.

Essential Qualification : An Honours degree in science with Chemistry or a degree in science with Biochemistry or Food Technology with 50% marks.

Application Fee : An application fee of Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred & Fifty) and processing charge of Rs.50/- (Rupees fifty) shall be collected through all branches of United Bank of India and deposited to A/C No.0088050006323 vide challan specially designed and available at Commission’s website.

Method of Recruitment :
The recruitment examination will be held in two successive stages viz.,
(i) Written Test for 100 marks
(ii) Personality Test-10 marks.

(i) Written Examination : The examination will consist of one paper with total marks of 100 comprising 100 questions (Multiple choice-Objective type questions) carrying 1 mark for each questions. There will be negative marking and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong/ incorrect answer. Out of 100 questions 60 questions will be from General knowledge, current affairs and Mathematics (Madhymik standard) and remaining 40 questions will be from Chemistry of Graduation level with special emphasis.

(ii) Personality Test : About three times the strength of the panels (Main & Supplementary) will be called for Personality Test subject to their obtaining qualifying marks in the main examination only which are 45% in aggregate for general and 40% in aggregate for S.C, S.T, OBC & P.H candidates. However, the commission reserves the right to relax the qualifying marks in respect of all or any of the categories. Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and personality test.

ii) A Candidate intending to sit for the examination shall submit his/her application in the prescribed form by post or in the box kept at Commission’s Office at the below mentioned address on any working day during office hours within the last date mentioned in the advertisement.

(ii) Ability to take notes of speeches at a uniform speed of 100 words per minute in case of English Shorthand or 80 words per minute in case of Bengali Shorthand.
(iii) Ability to type accurately from a manuscript at the rate of 40 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Bengali as the case may be.
Desirable:
(A) Computer proficiency in word processing/spread sheets/presentation software
(B) Preferably with past work experience.

(iii) Must be able to type accurately from a manuscript at the rate of 20 words per minute in Bengali.
Desirable :
(i) Higher Secondary (10 + 2) or higher academic qualification from recognized Board/ University,
(ii) Computer proficiency in word processing/spreadsheets/presentation software,
(iii) Preferably with past work experience.
