Description :
The Front Diffuser Ring is one of the important components in engine which determines the pressure of air which is going to enter the combustion chamber. Since it is a forged circular ring with integrated vanes it is difficult to machine partially by external clamping this clamp may cause mismatch of Surface and also effect on parallelism.
To overcome these problems, a magnetic milling fixture is used which holds the part by magnetic force. Magnetic fixture makes a mechanical interface between components and magnetizes. Thus it produces the specific field pattern that is requires for the particular application. This magnetic milling fixture the front diffuser ring is fabricated in the DMC Milling Machine. It has been approved by the Quality section from HAL.
