FINAL YEAR RESEARCH PROJECT :
- Pursuing Project on “Transdermal PLO organo gel system” during 2nd Year of M. Pharmacy. PROJECT SUMMARY : PLO gel is a stable, viscoelastic, clear and jelly like emulsion mainly composed of phospholipids in organic solvent. The pure natural lecithin is used to prepare organogel by addition of very little quantity of water or other polar solvent. PLO gels have very high permeability through skin and hence these are a novel base for drugs for transdermal use. NSAIDS are the category of drugs having antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities. It is very useful to administer these drugs by topical route as these are having a lot of gastric side effects. So incorporation of these drugs in PLO base produces a transdermal formulation with very high skin permeability and bioavailability avoiding the gastric side effects.
