Description of Position :
Primarily Responsible for managing the movements from all FMCG factories/Mother Warehouses into company Warehouses.
The Key responsibilities include the following
1. Customer Service
** Ensuring the delivery of material to the Warehouse/Customers from the Factories.
** Work with different business’s transportation Requirements and provide solutions.
** Drive the Factory to customer deliveries for the Biscuits and Atta Categories.
** Explore the additional opportunities of De-layering/Reduction in handling.
2. Freight Management & Vendor Development
** Finalizing the Transportation strategy and firm up the Negotiation strategies for different businesses.
** Work with the Business on the Network and Budget the Transportation Costs.
** Developing the Vendor base for different factory locations.
** Work with consultants and conduct the Reverse Auction and negotiation of Freight rates.
** Execute the Spot buying option in case of some categories.
** Benchmarking of Freight rates across industry.
** Negotiation of rates with transporter /WSP Service providers.
3. Freight Optimisation
**Work on the different levers to optimize the freight per unit.
** Work with factories in improving the productivity to reduce the delivery cost.
** Collaborate with Vendors/Industry to create new options for reducing the delivery cost.
4. Managing the Transporters Performance
** Focusing on the Transporter performance and ensure that the following parameters are tracked directly.
1. Placement Index
2. On time Delivery
3. Damages/Losses in Transit
4. No. of instances of penalty/documentation errors
**Administration of the Transporter Rating system.
5. Rail Logistics and Tie ups with Agencies
** Explore opportunities of rail Movement thru agencies
** Tie up the contracts with the Multi modal Transportation Agencies
Candidate Profile :
Prior Experience :
At least 6-7 years FMCG/ Consumer Durables/ Cement indutry experience in dealing with warehouses and transportation logistics
Education :
MBA from Tier 1 campus shall be considered (2005/2006/2007 Batch of NITIE, IIMs, IIT-SOM, Sp Jain, XLRI, SCMHRD and SIBM)
MBA from Tier 2 campus must have min 9 yrs experience in consumer durables/ FMCG/Cement industry

- MRP : To run Monthly Requirement Planning based on sales forecast, close interaction with key customers, historical data and organize material movement to the regional warehouse keeping an eye to the goal of targeted inventory
- GRN : Creation of Goods Receipt Note on same day of receipt of material in the warehouse.
- Order Processing : Customers’ order processing in SAP as per schedule date of delivery to customers.
- Stock Reconciliation : Monthly stock reconciliation of Physical stocks, SAP stocks and stocks as per Excise registers including batch numbers.
- Stock Keeping : Monitoring as per FIFO principle and segregating hazardous and non- hazardous cargo.
- Transportation : Close monitoring of transporters arrangement until delivery at the customers end. Dealing with all transport related problem until final settlement of each transaction.
- Coordination with Consultant : Factory & Vender location wise waybill creation, utilization & submission for inbound materials, timely collection of C Forms from outstation customers and providing C Form for purchasing inbound materials from other states, timely Provide F Form as per stock transferable inbounds materials.
- Coordination with consultant for timely submission of Excise & Sales Tax returns as per respective location. Statutory compliance and day by day work related to Excise & Sales Tax department.
- Customer Support : Coordination with eastern region customers for providing them all the relevant information for their interdepartmental requirement. Delighting customers with supply service and help creating a very friendly business environment within and outside the organization.
