Academic Projects Undertaken
Project : Heat sensitive switch
Team Size : 3
Details : The heat sensitive switch can be used to turn on (or off) the load connected across the relay at a predetermined temperature. At the heart of this heat sensitive switch is IC LM35, which is a linear temperature sensor and linear temperature to voltage converter circuit. The converter provides accurately linear and directly proportional output signal in millivolts over temperature range of 0 deg. C to 155 deg. C. It develops an output voltage of 10mV per degree centigrade change in the ambient temperature. Therefore the output voltage varies from 0 mV at 0 deg. C to 1V at 100 deg. C at any voltage measurement circuit connected across the output pins can read the temperature.
Project : Mobile bug

Details : The Mobile bug can detect both the incoming and outgoing calls, SMS and video transmission even if the mobile phone is kept in the silent mode. Here the circuit uses a 0.22µF disk capacitor (C3) to capture the RF signals from the mobile phone. Op-amp IC CA3130 (IC1) is used in the circuit as a current-to-voltage converter with capacitor C3 connected between its inverting and non-inverting inputs.When the mobile phone signal is detected by C3, the output of IC1 becomes high and low alternately according to the frequency of the signal as indicated by LED1. This triggers monostable timer IC2 through capacitor C7. Capacitor C6 maintains the base bias of transistor T1 for fast switching action. The low-value timing components R6 and C9 produce very short time delay to avoid audio nuisance. Use the miniature 12V battery of a remote control and a small buzzer to make the gadget pocket-size. The unitwill give the warning indication if someone uses mobile phone within a radius of 1.5 metres.
Project : Fire alarm

Details : Fire alarm consists of two main components ie. Thermister and IC555. Thermister works is same as LDR (change their resistance with change in heat where LDR change their resistance with change in light fall on it).The timer IC 555 used in this circuit is as astable multivibrator oscillator used to oscillate in audio frequency band. The two transistor are used to drive the timer IC 555. The output from pin 3 of IC 555 is fed to loudspeaker through transistor to generate sound. The value of resistor (R5 and R6) and capacitor (C2) determines the frequency of IC 555. The low resistance path of extend positive voltage to the base of transistor is provided when the thermister TH1 become hot. Further collector of transistor T1 is connected to base of transistor T2 provides positive voltage to reset pin 4 of IC1 for reset. This circuit works on wide range of input power supply voltage i.e. 6v to 12V.
