NIRD is a premier Institute providing training, research and consultancy activities in the field of rural development. NIRD needs services of qualified and experienced persons for two positions of Research Associate for research studies dealing with various aspects of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act undertaken by its Centre for Wage Employment & Poverty Alleviation (CWEPA). The proposed engagement will be on short term contract basis for a period of ten months.
Name of the post : Research Associate No. of post : 02 Consolidated Remuneration : Rs. 25,000/- p.m. Age : 35 years.
Essential Qualifications & Experience : Post Graduate (PG) degree in any of Social Sciences/ Agriculture with 3 years of proven research experience in rural development / labour market / agriculture studies
Desirable Qualifications & Experience : Candidates with working experience of Statistical packages would be preferred. Knowledge of Hindi is desirable.
Term of engagement : The engagement is purely on temporary basis on contract which will be initially for a period of ten (10) months. Further extension can be considered based on performance and Project’s requirement. The job involves touring and selected candidate will be involved in research, action research and training projects of the Centre.

What is the relaxation in age limit for SC category candidates?
Age : 35 years. Relaxation can be considered in case of SC/ST and OBC as per norms . Applicants claiming such age relaxation must attach a copy of caste certificate, failing which same will not be considered.
