5TH ALL INDIA POLICE BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP, 2012
INTRODUCTION :
Nagaland Police has been given the honour of organizing the 5th All India Police Badminton Championship (For Gazetted Officers Only). The championship will be held at Dimapur, Nagaland from 6th November to 9th November 2012. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Rules laid down by the All India Police Sports Control Board, New Delhi.
LOCATION :
The championship will be held at Dimapur, Nagaland which is connected by air, road and rail.
CLIMATE :
Weather of Dimapur will be warm during the day and pleasant at night/ morning during the season when the tournament is being conducted. Hence, warm clothing will be required. Temperature may range from 15° to 25° C.
VENUE & COURT CONDITIONS :
The championship will be held at the Multi Purpose Hall, Dimapur. The stadium which recently hosted the Nagaland Inter-District Badminton Championship has modern facilities available including HOVA Synthetic Courts and proper lighting besides facilities for spectators and players. Official shuttle to be used in the tournament will be “YONEX” AS2 (Feather shuttles). Matches will be played throughout the day.
CATEGORIES OF THE MATCHES :
Competition will be held in the following events :
1) Team Championship – 2 singles + 1 doubles from the same police organization.
2) Open singles
3) Open doubles
4) Veteran singles 45+
5) Veteran doubles 45+
6) Veteran singles 55+
7) Veteran doubles 55+
8) Mixed doubles – (Lady officers & ladies wives can participate) separate singles/ doubles matches will be held for lady officers and 55+ category provided there are at least four entries for these events.

10) Ladies doubles
ENTRIES :
A model entry form is enclosed along with these joining instructions. The complete entry forms along with eligibility certificate should be sent to the Organizing Secretary so as to reach him on or before 15th October 2012. Entry fee in cash can be deposited on 5th November 2012 during the Managers’ meeting, if the entries have been sent in advance.
The entry fee for the team event will be Rs 1000/- per team. For the open singles/veteran singles the fee will be Rs 300/- per participants and for open doubles/ veteran doubles the fee will be Rs 500/- per pair.
OPENING AND CLOSING CEREMONY :
Opening ceremony will be held on 6th November 2012 on the F/N session while closing ceremony will be held on 9th November 2012 (AN). The dress code for both the ceremonies will be:
1) White Shirt
2) White/ Grey Trousers
3) Navy Blue/ Force Blazer
4) Service Tie
5) Sports Shoes.
All the participating teams should bring two flags (size 4 feet x 6 feet) of their respective organizations, which would be flown alongside those of the All India Police Sports Control Board and other organizations at the venue of the championship.
CONTROL ROOM :
Office of Dy. Inspector General of Police, (Trg/Bdr) Nagaland at Police Complex Chumukedima will function as Control Room for the championship.

Do they provide Transport Services?
ACCOMMODATION & TRANSPORT:
(i) Free accommodation will be provided by the Organisers w.e.f 5th November to 9th November 2012. Details of composition of team indicating rank of the individual officer may please be indicated in the entry form to facilitate smooth allocation of rooms. To the extent possible states/organizations will be accommodated together but in case of unforeseen circumstances teams may please bear with the organizers.
(ii) If participants are accompanied by spouse and children, specific mention may please be made in entry form including mention of number of children. No last minute changes will be entertained.
(iii) All participants are to make their own travel arrangements to and from Dimapur. Organizers will not take any responsibility for ticketing.
(iv) Free transport during the duration of the Championship will be provided by the organizers.
(v) Teams making their own arrangements for accommodation may please indicate in the entry very specifically as to where they will be staying, especially this concerns CPOs who have their Mess at Dimapur. They are always welcome to avail of our hospitality.
