Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2 0 1 3
Admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall involve the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.

DATE OF EXAMINATION :
April 7, 2013 (Pen & Paper Based Examination)
During April 8 - 25, 2013 (Computer Based Examination)

Date of Birth :
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1988 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PwD candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.

Year of Passing Qualifying Examination (QE) :
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any other qualifying examination in 2011 or 2012; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any other qualifying examination in 2013 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2013. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2010 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2014 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2013. Candidates who appeared in class 12th/other Qualifying Examinations in 2010, did not pass in 2010, but passed in 2011 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2013.

Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/any other Qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main). In the year 2013 however, the candidates who have taken four subjects are also permitted to write JEE 2013 as an exception.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR JEE (Main) AND JEE (Advanced) – 2013 :
In order to appear in JEE (Main) and/or JEE (Advanced) 2013, the candidates are required to apply only online as per procedure detailed below

Applying Online and Submission of Application : The online submission of particulars may be made at JEE (Main) website. The candidates should supply all the required details while filling up the online form. On submission of details, a Confirmation Page with Application No. shall be generated.

Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation Page and paste photograph, put left hand thumb impression, sign and write down the Residential Address at appropriate places provided for these purposes. The Confirmation Page then must be signed by a parent/guardian and by a gazetted officer/principal of the last institution attended. Duly completed Confirmation Page is to be sent by Registered/Speed Post to The Executive Director, JEE (Main) Secretariat, Central Board of Secondary Education, PS-1-2, Institutional Area, I.P.Extn. Patparganj, Delhi-110 092 on or before the last date as mentioned earlier.

The application fee payment can be made :
(a) by credit/debit card, or
(b) by demand draft issued by a scheduled commercial bank in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi.

Where and How to Send the Confirmation Page :
The Confirmation Page is to be printed on A-4 size paper and kept in an A-4 size envelope/proper size envelope. The completed Confirmation Page must be sent only by registered/speed post to the Executive Director JEE (Main) - 2013 at the address given below

What are the details to be submitted along with online submission of application for the jeemain2013?

The duly filled Confirmation Page is to be sent by Registered/Speed Post to JEE (Main) office along with demand draft from any scheduled commercial bank if payment is made by demand draft. Those who have made payment by debit/credit card may have to send only Confirmation Page that carries the details of their online fee transactions.

The computer generated Confirmation Page with photographs pasted, address written, signed by the candidate, signed by the parent and counter signed by the Principal/Gazetted Officer must reach the JEE (Main) Secretariat on or before 26th December 2012.

Proof of Having Sent the Confirmation Page
The candidates are advised to retain the following.
** A photocopy of Confirmation Page carrying the Application No. Copy of receipt/confirmation as per the mode of remittance of Examination fee.
** Original receipt of Speed / Registered post.

It has been noticed that aspirants of JEE(Main) -2013 have committed mistakes while filling particulars in their online registration form. Keeping in view, the hardship of the candidates, the Board has decided to display the particulars of the candidates on the JEE(Main) website in the second week of Jan 2013 so that the candidates can rectify their incorrect particulars except change of examination cities and option for change of mode of examination from Computer Based Examination (online) to Pen & Paper based examination (Offline).

Candidates who have forgotten to put signatures, thumb impression, to obtain signature of parent/guardian, mailing address not mentioned on the form and to paste photographs duly attested are also advised to download duplicate copy of Confirmation Page, complete the same in all respect and forward the completed form to the JEE(Main) Unit.

It is notified for information of the aspirants of JEE(Main) that they should periodically visit the website of JEE(Main) i.e. www.jeemain.nic.in for rectification of the particulars.

I am Sourav De. I would like to inform you that I have filled up the application form on line for the exam of JEE (MAIN) 2013 whose application reference Number is 30346511 but, unfortunately after filling the form I realise that inspire of applying both Paper-1 and Paper-2 I have applied for only Paper-2. So necessary arrangement may kindly be made as soon as possible so that I can apply both the papers.

It is noticed that the date of entrance exam for jee(main) has been fixed on seventh April 2013. But the CBSE final exam of class twelve will finish most probably last week of March 2013. The fresh candidates those who are being appeared the class twelve exam under CBSE on March 2013 will not get sufficient time for the preparation specially the course of class XI.

The date has already been fixed will give the benefit to the candidate those who passed in previous year and taking coaching in various private coaching center.
