Applications are invited for the appointment to the post of the Engine Driver/Attendant/Lineman/Helper for Lineman/Helper for Meter Testing/Mechanical Fitter/Oilman/Mazdoor and similar grades as detailed below in the scale of pay PB2 of Rs.5200-20200+GP Rs.1800/-under the Lakshadweep Electricity Department from the qualified local candidates of Lakshadweep Islands. Qualifications required as per the existing Recruitment Rule for the appointment to the above said post is given below.

Educational Qualification :
i) SSLC Pass
(ii) LT.I National Trade Certificate either in Electrician/Wireman ( 2 year course) or Mechanic Diesel (One year course).
(iii) Experience for minimum period of 3 years For Electrician/Wireman and 4 years for Mechanic Diesel under Central Government/State Government/ Government undertakings.

DESIRABLE : Preference will be given to those who have Satisfied completed apprentice ship Training in Lakshadweep Electricity Department.

Selection criteria for awarding marks approved by the Competent Authority is as follows :
85 % of total marks to essential qualifications ie 45% of total marks to technical qualification (ITI) and 30% of total marks to general qualification(SSLC) and 10% of total marks will be assigned to experience in full and if experience is not in full the proportionate experience may be considered for giving marks. If a Candidate having 1.4 months experience in Electrician/Wireman Trade his marks will be 10% X 1.4/36=0.39. If a Candidate having 1.4 months experience in Diesel(Mechanic) his marks will be 10% X 1.4/48=0.29. Similarly Candidates having some experience will be given preference than fresh pass candidates with out experience and 15 % of total marks will be given to desirable qualification as per Recruitment Rule. Percentage of marks of the candidates who have taken additional chances to pass the course will be reduced at a specified percentage ie.1 %for each additional attempt(s).

How to Apply :
Eligible candidates are requested to submit their applications in plain paper with attested copies of certificates for proof of Age, Caste and Educational qualifications, experience with mark list of essential qualifications etc. to the undersigned on or before 30.11.2012 at 5PM. Applications received without attested copies of certificates, proof of age and educational qualifications and received after due date and time will be rejected.
