The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals is looking for an eminent Scientist / Educationalists in the field of Polymer Science and Technology for appointment as “Director General” of the institute. The qualification, experience, duties and other requisite details are as given below;
Name of the post : DIRECTOR GENERAL Age Limit : 45 Years or above, but not exceeding 55 years as on the last date for receipt of application
Essential Qualification : Ph.D in Science / Engineering with specialization in Polymer Science / Plastics Engineering.
Experience :
i) 16 years of experience in the thrust areas related to the objectives of the Institute i.e. Academic/Training, Technology, Research & Development and services to the industry.
ii) Should be creative, innovative and a well established Scientist / Technologist having a demonstrated ability to manage Training, Industrial Consultancy and multidisciplinary R&D activities. Should have minimum of 12 years administrative experience in Research/Training/Educational Institute of repute.
Responsibilities : The Director General shall supervise and exercise administrative control on the staff of the Institute and shall be responsible for
(i) realizing the mission of the Institute and
(ii) creating an environment in the Institute conducive to nurturing of innovation and high class Academic / Training and R&D activities of the institute. Nurture Institute-Industry interface for the growth and development of plastics and allied industries in the country.

The Appointment to the post of Director General will be made on contract for a period of six years in the pay scale of HAG i.e. Rs.67000 – (annual increment @ 3%) 79000 plus allowances as per Govt. of India Rules. In deserving case, the tenure can be extended by another term of six years or till the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier.
Other perquisites and allowances including Dearness Allowance would be as admissible to CIPET Employees. The compensation structure, rules and regulations of CIPET are generally in line with those applicable to Central Government employees
