Name of the post : Technical Officer (Lab Services Division) Remuneration : Rs. 28,750 – Rs. 45,000 per month Duration : Initially the contract shall be for a period of one year. Age : Not more than 50 years.
Educational Qualification and Experience :
MD (Microbiology) preferable/MBBS with minimum 3 years experience preferable in labs, M.Sc.(Microbiology) with 3 years experience in labs, BDS candidates with experience in labs, preference will be given if the candidate has been working in the field of HIV/AIDS

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and assist in laboratory activities and compile reports related to HIV surveillance.
a) Monitor & coordinate the work related to HIV surveillance with SRL’s & NRL’s.
b) Organization of meetings & trainings for HIV surveillance related to labs.
c) Coordinate and ensure timely compilation of data of labs.
2. Monitor and assist in activities and compile reports related to STI.
a) Coordination for lab issues related to diagnosis.
b) Training of personnel in lab tests for STI.
c) Preparation of training material like power point presentation/guidelines etc.
3. EQAS for HIV, Blood Bank and CD4 testing including data analysis and reporting
a) Monitor the work related to EQAS, including preparation of panels, organization of meetings of NRLs, TRG Lab Services and Technical Specification Committee.
b) Obtain monthly reports from NRLs and review work done.
c) Coordinate and ensure timely preparation and reporting of EQAS panels of the Apex, NRLs, SRLs and ICTCs.
d) Ensure that quarterly positive and negative samples are being sent to the supervisory lab for confirmation.
4. Monitoring system for supplied equipment for laboratories.
5. Visit at least one state per quarter and review SRLs (at least two), 3 blood banks and 5 ICTCs in each state.
6. Any other matter assigned by ADG(LS), AS & Secy. & DG, NACO
