Competitions :
** React-o-mobile
** Gadget-Aid
** IC Engine Car
1) React-o-mobile :
Problem Statement :
To build a Chemically powered car to traverse the race track in the least possible time.
Gameplay Rules :
Distance :
Each car should compete on the common track constructed by the organizer. Each car will be given two opportunities to go across the specified distance.
Course Layout and Distance Measurement :
The car will start with its front end touching the Starting Line. The goal of the competition is to have your car closest to the specified Destination/ Finish line. The distance will be measured with respect to the front most point of the car and the finish line. The score obtained is the distance where the model car stops.
Car Drive System :
1. The car must be an autonomous vehicle and cannot be controlled remotely. Pushing to start the vehicle or using a mechanical starting device is NOT allowed.
2. No commercial Batteries (for example, AA batteries) are allowed as the power source.
3. No mechanical force can be applied to the wheel or ground to slow or stop the car.
4. There can be no mechanical or electronic timing device(s) to stop the chemical reaction or stop the car.
5. Internal combustion engines that use an alternative fuel (e.g., biodiesel, ethanol, etc.) are allowed.
The Winning Team :
The winning team is the car that stops closest to the destination/finishing line. This is defined as the absolute value of the distance between the front most part of the car and the finish line. In case of ties, the team with the best average from the two runs will be declared the winner.
The top 3 teams will be given certificates of appreciation
2. Gadget-Aid :
Problem Statment :
Build a product which helps the physically challenged, by hacking a series of electronic devices.
Gameplay Rules :
1. There will be 1 round in the event. The scoring is specified in the 'Judging Criteria' tab. This competition concentrates on 3 types of Physical Challenges :
** Visual impairment
** Hearing impairment
** Speaking impairment
2. The team needs to make a product (by hacking devices from the list given) which can be useful for any one of the above mentioned 3 impairments.
3. The participants can use any number of devices from the list.
4. The teams must submit an abstract.
5. The final design must not significantly differ from the design in the reports.
6. In case of any discrepancies, the decision of the Event Coordinators shall be considered final in all respects. The judges decision shall be considered final and binding on all.
3. IC Engine Car :
The Arena:
The track will be multi-terrain with sharp turns, ramps and jumps. The speed and steering control both, will matter to defeat the opponent as you race through this obstacle course.
The track consists of :
** Jumps up to 1.5ft.
** Ramps up to an inclination of 40deg.
** The track width will be maintained 8 feet in most parts of the track.
** A control tower about 1 storey high will be provided for the participant for proper vision of the track.
** Multiple cars will run on the track at the same time, hence participants may face varying levels of difficulty during their race.
