Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2012 - A national programme to identify and nurture scientific temper among children :
Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) shall be a four level process in which each student shall undergo various testing procedures that includes objective type question answering, comprehensive writing, project proposal writing, group discussion- role play, practical examination & oral viva.

VVM shall also include visit to reputed national science laboratories and centers and interaction with renowned scientists of the nation for screened students. Details of VVM have been explained below. The VVM shall identify Vigyan Jigyasu, Keen Knowledge Seeker of Science) at National Level.

Who Can Participate ?
School level students from 06th Standard to 12th Standard can participate from all over the India, across all boards and languages. They shall be divided in three groups with different difficulty level, as below. The purpose of dividing into groups is just to define and restrict the syllabus (as given later in this brochure) for the screening examination. However, merit list shall be prepared only class wise.
Group-A : 6th, 07th & 8th Standard

Group-B : 9th & 10th Standard

Group-C : 11th & 12th Standard

State Level Screening :
There shall be two papers on same day with 15 minutes break for State Level Screening. First paper shall be Prathama Exam and second shall be Dwitiya Exam. Group wise syllabus has been given in this booklet. The same can be downloaded from our website.

State Level VVM Camp :
State Level Screening shall identify top 20 students from each class, who will participate in State Level VVM Camp. So in all 140 (20 x 07 classes from 06th to 12th Standard) students shall appear in State Level VVM Camp in each state.

Then, top 02 students i.e. top 02 winners of State Level VVM Camp from each class shall participate in National Level VVM Camp. State Level VVM Camp shall be one day activity that shall comprise various written, practical and oral activities.

National Level VVM Camp :
Top 02 students from each class i.e. 14 students from each state shall participate in a Two Day National Level VVM Camp. Date of National Level VVM Camp can be seen in section of important dates. However, declaration of venue and possible activities shall be announced by Vijnana Bharati, and the same shall be notified timely to the eligible students.

All eligible students, who will participate in National Level VVM Camp, shall be paid to and fro rail/bus fare on producing proper proof. Vijnana Bharati shall make stay and food arrangements for participant and one of the parents.

Participation Fee :
One Time Participation Fee of Rs. 70/- per student for each group. The amount shall be collected by respective school.

Prizes & Awards:
VVM offers very attractive and motivating prizes to almost all students who appeared in any process of VVM. However, objective of VVM is not to give prize for only once, but to identify Vigyan Jigyasu and mentor them for their bright future in science so they can work and contribute to the Indian Science & Technology more effectively

Syllabus :
The syllabus of VVM Screening Process is detailed herein. The syllabus majorly covers school level syllabus including Indian Contribution from tradition to modern Science & Technology. Apart from that it also contains school level syllabus.

Topics selected in school level syllabus are almost common across the all school boards operational in India. The language of instructions in screening process shall be in Hindi and English.

For State and National Level VVM Camps, possible activities shall be notified to the eligible students time to time and language shall be no bar in these camps,only science should speak
