Mats Law School, Raipur takes a great honor in extending an invitation to your esteemed institution to participate in its MLS International Moot Court Competition 2012, to be held from 23rd to 25th No-vember, 2012.

Rules & Regulations :
1. Definitions :
The following terms shall have corresponding meanings unless otherwise specified
1. “Committee” means MATS Law School, Moot Court Committee.
2. “Case Clarification” (hereinafter referred to as “clarification”) means the official clarification and correction as published on the official website of the competition.
3. “Competition” means MLS International Moot Court Competition 2012.
4. “Competition Rules” means the official rules of the competition as amended from time to time.
5. “Complainant” means that side of the team which argues on behalf of the Complainant at any given point in the competition.
6. “IST” means Indian Standard Time.
7. “Low HDI Countries” shall mean all those countries according to the norms of the United Nations, as of December 2009.
8. “Moot Proposition” means Statement of Facts released by the organizers of the Competition.
9. “Official Website” shall mean official website of MLS International Moot Court Competition 2012.
10. “Participant” means any member of the team participating in the MLS International Moot Court Competition 2012.

2. Venue, Date and Subject matter of the Competition :
The MLS International Moot Court Competition 2012 shall be held from 23rd – 25th November, 2012 at MATS Law School, MATS University, Aarang Campus, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.

3. Official Language :
The official language of the Competition is English. All the submissions including the oral submissions and memorial shall be made in English.

4. Eligibility for Participation :
The Competition is open to all students, enrolled on a regular basis in an Undergraduate law course or its equivalent conducted by any recognized Institution/College/University.

5. Team Composition :
1. Each team shall consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 members. This number cannot be altered under any circumstances.
2. Each team shall include two speakers, who may be accompanied by one researcher, all of whom shall have to be accordingly designated during the registration process. Each team will have a team code and each member shall be given an individual code. The team code shall be sent to the teams through e-mails. The respective team codes have to be mentioned in the right top corner of the cover page of the Written Submissions.

Last Date for online registration is 11th October 2012

6. Registration :
Each team shall register with the Organizing Committee to participate in the competition. Registration is a two-step process comprising of submission of the registration form and payment of the registration fees.

Online Provisional Registration will be open till 11/10/2012 (11 :59 PM IST) and Postal till 13/10/2012.

7. Registration Fee :
The Registration Fee for participating teams shall be Rs. 2000 (Two Thousand Only) INR.

Payment of Registration Fee :
1. Indian Teams must make payment by Demand Draft. The Demand Draft shall be made in favor of “MATS University” payable at Raipur. (Indian Teams are also free to make payment by the mode prescribed in the next clause.)
2. Payment by International Teams must be made via Bank Transfer. The Bank Details for which are as follows :

3. Teams from Low HDI Countries are eligible to apply for waiver of registration fees. All the formalities concerning the registration process should be completed by October 13, 2012. The decision of the Organizing Committee shall be final in this regard.

8. Rounds :
There will be two preliminary rounds of arguments, a quarterfinal, a semi-final and one final round.

9. Awards :
Best Team INR 20,000/-
Runners up Team INR 15,000/-
Best Memorial INR 5,000/-
Best Advocate INR 5,000/-
All Rounder Team INR 5,000/-
In addition to the above awards trophies and certificates will be given to various categories of winners. All participants will be awarded participation certificates.

10. Accommodation, Food and Transport :
Accommodation, Food and Local Transportation to the participating teams will be provided by MATS Law School only during the competition. The name and mobile number of the student volunteer in charge of transport / accommodation will also be provided after finalization.
