Square Enix Game Development Contest India 2012 :
India‘s IT industry is achieving dramatic progress with the rapid popularization of mobile telephones and broadband and the nation’s economy has assumed an extremely important position. In this context, the increased cultivation of superior IT engineers has become a strategically important task for the realization of continued economic expansion.

In such circumstances, providing high quality digital content and services will not only contribute to the further expansion of India‘s IT industry as well as its economy, but also lead to future development of talent.

Foremost, it is thought that the games industry, in addition to overtaking the film industry’s economic scale worldwide, and growing to be the largest of the entertainment industries, will contribute to the development of the mobile communications and IT industries as a whole through the stimulation of the games industry by the powerful and diverse emergent technologies required for game development.

The goal is to benefit the economy as a whole as the result of holding a game contest in India, and bringing more of the superior talent into the Indian game industry to stimulate it.

This contest will encourage the improvement of individual skills of creators with outstanding results, and create opportunities to become internationally recognized creators.

Rules :
Qualification requirement :
Any individuals, groups and organizations residing in India are eligible for entering the contest.

Genres :
There are no restrictions regarding the content and genres of the games. Make the best game you can!

Development Platforms :
Smartphone / Tablet :
** Game application made in Android OS (2.2 or above)
** Game application made in iOS (4.0 or above)
** Game application made in Windows Phone (above 7.1)

PC :
Browser based

Prizes :
** Grand Prize Award Rs. 10,00,000 1 game
** Excellence Awards Rs. 3,00,000 2 games
** Runner-up Awards Rs. 1,50,000 5 games

Further opportunities for the winners and talented participants :
Prize-winners and other talented participants will have a chance to work as development partners of SQUARE ENIX for IP development if mutual agreement is reached.

Judging Method :
Entries will be screened and the finalists will be selected by SQUARE ENIX by 30th November, then the final evaluation will be made through the combination of internal judgment and voting by the general public. The final results will be announced by 20th December.

Evaluation Criteria :
Creativity (originality), Fun, Controllability, Overall Quality as a finished work, etc.

Submission Period :
1st - 30th September, 2012

Announcement of Finalists :
30th November, 2012

Results Announcement :
20th December, 2012 (on this website)

Entry process :
1. Register your details through the Registration page and accept the Terms & Conditions mentioned on that page.
2. An E-mail confirming your registration details will arrive from the Contest`s Secretariat.
3. Upon clicking on the link mentioned in the E-mail, the registration process will be completed.
4. Please confirm your User ID from the "Your registration is complete" page. This User ID will be necessary when logging in.
5. Once your game is ready to submit, upon carefully confirming the points mentioned in the "Upload game" page, upload your game data and game instruction manual (Upload the two files in one ZIP file) through the "Upload game" page.
6. Please wait until the page changes from "Uploading" to "File uploaded successfully" page.
7. If the "File uploaded successfully" screen comes up, your upload is complete.

Note :
Receiving of submissions will begin from 1st September, 2012.
