Name of the post : PROFESSOR
Scale of Pay :Pay Band (IV) of Rs.37400 – 67000 with AGP : Rs.10,000/-
Age Limit : Age not above 50-
Educational and Other Qualifications : An eminent scholar with published work of high quality actively engaged in research, with ten years of experience in postgraduate teaching, and/or experience in research at university/national level institutions, including experience in guiding research at doctoral level (or) Associate Professor completing three years of service in the AGP of Rs 9000 and possessing a Ph.D. Degree in relevant discipline.

Scale of Pay : Pay Band (IV) of Rs.37400 – 67000 with AGP : Rs.9,000/-
Age Limit : Age not above 45-years
Educational and Other Qualifications :
(i) Good academic record with doctoral degree or an equivalent published work.
(ii) A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/PWD candidates ) (or) Its equivalent grade of B at seven point scale of O, A, B, C, D, E & F
(iii) Five Years of teaching and / or research experience excluding the period spent on acquiring doctoral degree (or) Three years teaching experience as Assistant Professor in AGP of Rs. 8000.

Name of the post : ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Scale of Pay : Pay Band (III) of Rs.15600 – 39100 with AGP:Rs.6000 (or as per the rules prescribed by UGC/GOI)
Age Limit : Age not above 40-years (relaxable by Vice Chancellor in deserving cases)
Educational and Other Qualifications :
(i) A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) (or) Its equivalent grade of B at seven point scale of O,A,B,C,D,E & F.
(ii) Must have cleared National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC.
Desirable : Ph. D. degree in related subject. (However, candidates having Ph. D. degree are exempted from NET vide UGC D.O. No. F.1-1/2002 (PS) Exemp. Effective from June 14,2006).
Note : NET qualification is exempted wherever no such test was conducted by UGC

I wish to inform you that I am still doing my Doctorate. I wish to know if I can apply for the post of Professor as I have 25 years of Teaching experience at the degree level. I teach Economics at the UG level in a Government college in Bangalore.

Unfortunately, I dont see a vacancy for Economics faculty.
