Job Profile :
> Should have experience planning and executing data center rationalization, consolidation, relocation or migration.
> Hands on experience in designing and building new data centers.
> Ability to perform infrastructure discovery and assessments and provide technical solutions.
> Demonstrate a holistic understanding of Data Center operations / functions (i.e. Production operations, Server, Storage,
Network, Database Mgt., Systems Mgt., Helpdesk, DR/Business recovery practices etc.) with a focus on server, storage, and database
technologies. Familiarity with functional operations of server, storage, and network functions.
> Holistic understanding of the interdependencies of datacenter functions and technologies.
> Ability to analyze server hardware and application components and implement migration / consolidation strategy which includes source to
target migrations and cutover.
> Ability to analyze / perform O/S upgrades.
> Experience with Infrastructure discovery product and P2V product.
> Strong system administration knowledge of Windows & VMware.
> VMWare certification a plus.
> Client Facing Skills Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive migration projects and resolving the
issues faced during migration to completion on an aggressive schedule.
> Datacenter or Server Consolidation Project Experience and Linux knowledge a plus.

The specific role of the Wintel-SME is to work with Architect / Solution team to understand the client requirement with the ability to
drive migration project to completion on an aggressive schedule. Must be willing to travel as necessary.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :

As a Wintel SME you will be an individual contributor responsible for :

* Work with Global technical / solution Architect Force to respond to RFP/RFI/RFQs
* Involve in end-to-end Datacenter migration project
* Document the migration procedure and process at the required level of details
* Create / develop engineer documents
* Engage with OEMs on need basis
* Work with the line of services throughout the migration phase
* Discovery of infrastructure (server, storage, Network) and application. Ability to analyze the discovery data
* Ability to create the linkages b/w various infrastructure (server, storage, network), application and dependency
* Create decision trees for move groups based on application dependency and environment
* Strategy for server migration, consolidation and upgrade.
* Participate in creating hourly plan for each migration group
* Develop equipment requirement for servers, storage, network
* Ability to size the servers at target DC based on workload migration, capacity planning
* Ability to spell out facility requirement at target DC : Power, Space, Rack size, Network ports etc

Technical Skills :
* Hands on experience on below listed technologies -
o Server Platform - Wintel (Windows NT / 2000 / 2003 / 2008)
o Virtualization - VMware ESX / Hyper - V / Citrix Xen Server
o Microsoft - Active Directory, DHCP, WINS, DFS, File & Print, IIS, MOM, WSUS, Windows Migration / upgrade from 2003 to 2008
o Server migration techniques - P to P, P to V, V to V, V to P using tools such as PlateSpin Migrate, VMware Converter, Bare Metal Recovery tools (CBMR, Double-Take Availability, vRanger)
o Extensive troubleshooting skills on Windows and VMware

* Storage Platform Technologies (SAN/NAS) including Hardware & Software (EMC / NetApp / Sun / IBM / HP etc.).
* Build server environment, storage / Network connectivity (Design & Build)

* Data backup and replication environment
* Migrate servers (over network or tape) or push pull using swing methods
* Application Virtualization - Citrix Metaframe / Presentation Server / XenApp Server, Thin client, Microsoft Terminal Services
* Implementation of clusters (Microsoft, Veritas Clusters) and NLB
