Themes :
1) India’s energy woes - Fuelling new business opportunities :
India has been facing acute power shortage for a long time. Country’s installed power capacity is not able to meet its ever increasing demand. With industrial and urban expansion, growth in household consumption and electrification of rural areas, the situation is going to get worse.
2) Opportunities in Food Processing industry :
The Green revolution and Milk revolution brought remarkable successes in the agricultural and diary sectors; however they have not been matched by improvements in supply chain management, and in new technologies for better processing, preservation, and storage of food. Wastages due to spoilage and quality deficiencies are causing food shortages and starvation in many parts of the country.
3) Agriculture in a profitable business model :
Agriculture is the mainstay of India. There are huge business opportunities waiting to be untapped in the agriculture sector. Gone is the mindset that agriculture is for poor people or uneducated people.
4) Sports and fitness :
In recent years, India has managed to control communicable diseases like malaria, cholera and polio. However, today the nation has to face a new set of obesity related diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular ailments primarily because of the sedentary urban lifestyle.
5) Wild Card Entry :
If your ideas don’t fall in any of the above mentioned categories and you believe that your idea can truly bring a positive change, then send in your entries under the wild card category.
