How to become a professional engineer with IEI?
Who?
The Institution of Engineers (India), the largest multi-disciplinary engineering professional body of engineers, has been certifying Professional Engineers (PEs) for over a decade. The Institution is now a Full Member of the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA), which facilitates the international mobility of professional engineers certified by IEI according to the international standards.

Why ?
The certification of an engineer as a Professional Engineer (PE) recognizes his professional capability and competence. The Professional Engineers certified by IEI, as per international norms in vogue, would be free to practice the profession in other IPEA member economies, subject to Agreement between two member organizations along with the Authority / Authorities responsible for Registration / Licensure or Participating Authority / Authorities for mutual recognition of Licensed / Registered Engineers.

How ?
Eligibility criteria for becoming a Professional Engineer :
1. Recognized bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
2. Minimum seven years’ professional experience
3. Minimum two years’ professional experience in significant engineering activity
4. Satisfactory level of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
5. Membership of a recognized professional institution or society
6. Good character and commitment to the Code of Ethics

Professional Engineers Certification :The certification of professional engineer involves:
1. Online Assessment Examination
2. Assessment of record of professional experience and Continuous Professional Development

How can I Log in through the website?

Procedure to Log in:
On clicking the ‘Log In’ tab on the homepage, a ‘Member Login’ window will appear on the right side. Membership Category should be entered along with seven digits continuously (e.g. AM0123456) as the Login id. To avail password, the ‘Get Password’ option should be clicked and the Password will be automatically send via SMS/e-mail. If unable to do so for any reason, an e-mail should be sent to edp@ieindia.org requesting for password by giving membership no, mobile no. and e-mail id.
