How to Register establishment online?
EPFO Launches online receipt of Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) from the Month of April 2012 (March paid in April). Employers are requested to Register their establishments and create their user id and password through this portal. The registered employers can upload the Electronic Return and the uploaded return data will be displayed through a digitally signed copy in PDF format.

It will be available for printing also. Once approved by the employer online Challan will be popped based on uploaded return. The employer may choose to make the payment through internet banking of SBI or take a print out of the Challan and pay at any designated branch of State Bank of India (SBI).

Benefits :
** No paper return to be prepared and submitted to EPFO.
** No need to submit other returns viz Form 5/10/12A,3A and 6A.
** Employers will get the confirmation of payment through SMS instantly.
** The contribution will be credited to the members' account on monthly basis.
** Employers can view the annual accounts slip for accounting year 2011-12 online.
** For earlier years employers can request for the annual slips through this portal.

Instructions to avail facility :
** Register your establishment at EPFO website
** You will receive system generated temporary username and password on your mobile.
** On first login with the temporary user id and password, create your permanent User Id and new password to avail facilities through the portal.

Note:
If you have made remittance for the wage month of March 2012 onwards using a manual challan, please submit the ECR text file along with the hard copy of the ECR PDF file duly signed by the Authorised Signatory and certified copy of receipted challan to the concerned EPFO Office. The total remitted amount under each account head should match the amounts under the respective heads in the challan.

What happens if the employer does not register?

The online generation of challan will not be possible if the employer has not registered his/her establishment. The employer has to register and create his/her user id & password for accessing the Employer Portal of EPFO.

Can an epf member register on the Employer e-Sewa portal to view account?

No, this service is for the employers of the establishment having EPF Code number and for filing online return and making remittance. Members should not register here.

Essential Document(s) to be submitted (For other than a proprietary concern)
1. A copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association and the certificate of incorporation issued by the Registrar of Companies, in the case of Public and Private Ltd. Companies.
2. A copy of partnership deed in the case of partnerships.
3. A copy of Registration certificate issued by the Registrar of Co-operative societies.
4. A copy of Registration certificate issued by Registrar in the case of societies registered under Societies Registration Act along with a copy of the objects and Rules of the Society.
5. Partition deeds creating HUF.
6. Any agreement or other legal documents in the case of Association of persons as defined in the Income Tax Act.
