CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME OF SCHOLARSHIP FOR COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS - 2012

Eligibility : All conditions are mandatory and applicable to all categories of applicants
a. The applicant should be an Indian national

b. The applicant should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination 2012 conducted by CBSE and have secured the total aggregate marks (in first five subjects) equal or above the following minimum marks as per the stream opted by the applicant :
Minimum Total Aggregate Marks for all categories (SC/ST/OBC/UR) to apply for Scholarship (Marks in first five subjects) Science-418, Commerce-396, Others-332

c. The applicant should be pursuing higher studies and have taken admission in Under Graduation regular course (not correspondence or distance mode) from recognized Educational Institutions in India
d. The applicant should not be availing any other scholarship

e. Total Annual Income of parents of the applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh per annum
f. The applicant should not belong to creamy layer as defined by DoP&T from time to time. (Govt. of India, Dept. of Per. & Trg., OM No. 36033/S/2004-Estt. (Res.), dated 14-10-2004) (This is applicable to all categories of applicants both ‘general’ and ‘reserved’)

Mode of Disbursal of Scholarship
a. Scholarship amount shall be sent to the selected candidate’s Bank Account only by ECS (Electronic Clearing System) mode.
b. Applicants are requested to open Bank Account in his/her name in a branch of any Scheduled Nationalised/ commercial Bank which has ECS facility.Applicants are advised to provide their Bank Account number, Bank Name and detail address of the Bank and the correct RTGS/NEFT branch code of the Bank.
c. No request for sending the amount of scholarship by Draft or in account of parents or joint account will be entertained

Last Date of Receipt of Online Application for CSSS-2012 : 31st October 2012.

How to apply for Scholarship :
A. Check eligibility criteria
B. If eligible, obtain the Bank Details of your Account, RTGS/NEFT branch code of the bank from the Bank Manager.
C. Fill the application form of Scholarship online.
D. Application form and Joining report will be generated online and these may be printed on A4 size paper.
E. Get the Joining report verified from Institution’s Head from where course is being pursued.
F. Get the Income affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- duly sworn in before Notary Public/First class Executive Magistrate/Revenue Officer as per the prescribed format.
G. Send the Online generated Application Form along with the following documents:
** Duly signed Online generated Application form.
** Joining report Attested by Head of Institution/Report.
** Copy of Mark sheet of Sr.School Certificate Exam – 2012 Write online registration no. on its top.
** Copy of Caste Certificate, if applicable. Write online registration no. on its top.
** Income Affidaviton a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- in original. Write online registration no. on its top.
** Income Tax Returns/Form-16 of both the Parents (of the year ending Mar 2010) issued by the employer should be attached alongwith the affidavit wherever applicable)
** Printout of Online Form bearing Registration No. and other documents be sent to
“Section Officer (Scholarship),
7th floor, CBSE, Shiksha Kendra,
2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar,
Delhi- 110092”
by ordinary post superscribing “ Online CSSS-2012” on top left.{ALSO ATTACH A CANCELLED CHEQUE ALONG WITH THE HARD COPY OF APPLICATION FORM}.
H. Students are advised to keep a photocopy of complete application form with them.

Renewal of Scholarship:
** For renewal of Scholarship, applicant has to apply on separate renewal form. Applicant should have passed in all the subjects in semester/annual examinations with not less than 60 % marks in the aggregate of 2 semester or annual examinations and have maintained 75 % attendance, good discipline and not involved in ragging activities etc.
** Scholarship once cancelled will not be revived under any circumstances.

I am Annesha Bhattacharjee. I am a student of West Bengal State Board(H.S). I have obtained 458 out of 500 in Science stream and applied for this scheme in the year 2011. My reference number is DS/LAW/04/12/(serial number is 17) and dated is 31.01.2012, the completed application form received by the office. Whether I am entitled to get the scholarship or not?

I have applied for scholarship online without the cheque number because, i am not 18 years old so the bank has not provided me the cheque book. So will I get the scholarship amount. I have sent the pass book photocopy so show that. What should I do now?
