PROJECT DETAILS
(1) Solaris Custom Jump start Installation
- Organization : Moon Up InfoTech
- Role : Solaris System Administrator
- Description : Project involved to install non interactive solaris operating system
- Contribution : Responsible for installation of Solaris operating system on number of systems with same configuration by using network environment.
- To install Solaris operating system on many systems at a time to save time and duplication of efforts. This project was to configure three types of
servers :-
- 1.Boot server 2.Configuraion server & 3.Installation server.
- This configuration based on clients unique Ethernet address. From which the boot server access the machines of all clients at a time and assign each of them an ip to boot from network. Configuration services and in.rarpd daemon configures the clients machine for non interactive installation. Lastly in the Installation server there is a software dump which starts the installation of Solaris os on each machine.
- Rules files were used under this project as per our requirement to implement conditional installation and to configure some finish scripts to manage tasks after OS installation.
