The candidate will be involved in full lifecycle development activities, including:

Mandatory technical competencies :
Strong in almost all of the J2EE Technologies
Strong in UML design
Strong in Spring, Hibernate, Struts
Working knowledge of basic application performance tuning
Working knowledge with Oracle
Working knowledge with Weblogic and JBoss Application Servers
Working familiarity with a formal software development process

Mandatory behavioral competencies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

1. Project Name : HANDLING OF MISSING VALUES IN DATA MINING

Description : The presence of missing values in a dataset can affect the performance of a classifier constructed using that dataset as a training sample. Several methods have been proposed to treat missing data and the one used more frequently is deleting instances containing at least one missing value of a feature. In this thesis experiments have been carried out with datasets to evaluate the effect on the misclassification error rate of four methods for dealing with missing values.
2. Project Name : DRUG DISCOVERY

Description : The objective of this project is to use Chemo Informatics for exploiting the widespread database of unknown drugs to discover new Drug like compounds that contain functional groups and have physical as well as therapeutic properties consistent with the majority of known drugs. The application will be used to find patterns from the data. The database of unknown drugs would be mined to find those drugs that are similar to some specific drug (e.g. HIV) in chemical properties. Also structural similarity between drugs would be found.
