About us :
Established in 1918, Osmania University is the 7th oldest university in the country,3rd oldest in south India and the oldest in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Named after its founder Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, the 7th Nizam of the then princely state of Hyderabad, Osmania University is the first university in the country to impart instruction through the medium of an Indian language i.e., Urdu with English as a compulsory subject. Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore lauded this revolutionary experiment of a regional language as the medium of higher education.
