Department of Pediatrics is conducting a Walk in interview on 10th of August, 2012 at 10 AM for one ICMR funded ad-hoc project; “Childhood obesity in India – a multi-center study on its measurements and determinant in relation to the cardio-metabolic risk factors” for the following positions;

1) Name of the post : Research Scientist I
Number of post : 3
(i) Medical/Non-medical - 2 post
(ii) Medical - 1 post
Type of appointment : Contractual
Salary :
Medical : Total consolidated pay: Rs 39, 649/- per month);
Non-Medical : Consolidated amount of Rs. 28,458/- per month
Work institution : Department of Pediatric Disciplines, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong
Eligibility Criteria :
Medical :
Qualification : MBBS from MCI recognized institution
Experience :
i) 3 years research experience in relevant areas in recognized institute
iI) Knowledge on research methodologies is desirable.
Non- medical :
Qualification : Master’s degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Nutrition
Experience :
i) 3 years research/teaching experience OR PhD after completion of Master’s degree
ii) Experience of working in related areas of health in recognized institute is desirable
iii) Knowledge of research methodologies is desirable.

2) Name of the post : Research Assistant

Duration of Appointment : 4 months
Type of appointment : Contractual
Salary : Fixed amount of 21,140/-per month
Work institution : Department of Pediatric Disciplines, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong
Eligibility Criteria :
Qualification : Master’s degree in Anthropology, sociology, Social work, Psychology
Experience :
i) Knowledge in research related field work is desirable
ii) Experience of working in field work related to health/training related to health investigation
iii) Conversant in local language (khasi), English and Hindi

3) Name of the post : Research Assistant( Laboratory)
Number of post : 1
Duration of Appointment : 1 year
Type of appointment : Contractual
Salary : Fixed amount of 15,462/- per month
Work institution : Department of Pediatric Disciplines, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong
Eligibility Criteria :
Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Science (with chemistry /biochemistry) from a recognized university/institute
Experience :
i). Knowledge in laboratory related activities.
ii). Experience of working in field work related to health is desirable
iii). Conversant in local language (khasi), English and Hindi

4) Name of the post : Laboratory technician
Number of post : 2 post
Duration of Appointment : 1 year
Type of appointment : Contractual
Salary : Fixed amount of 17,546/-per month

Eligibility criteria :
(i) Bachelor’s degree in science from recognized university
(ii) 12th class pass with Diploma in medical laboratory
Experience :
i) One year experience in medical laboratory.
ii) Experience of working in field work related to health is desirable

5) Name of the post : Laboratory Attendant

Duration of Appointment : 1 year
Type of appointment : Contractual
Salary : Fixed amount of 11,068/- per month

Eligibility criteria : 10thclass pass
Desirable : Experience of working in medical laboratory/ field work related to health.

Age limit :18 years to 45 years
