Job Description
Process adherence (Change Agent):
Understand the current software development methodology (including testing) in Subex
Suggest changes in the test practices to enhance effectiveness
Define appropriate metrics to be collected
Define mechanism for collecting the metrics regularly
Enforce adherence to test process in the team
How to estimate effort for testing and make test plans
Review and modify test artefacts being used currently
Ensure that testing at the required depth is covered.

Project delivery and quality:
Be part of the project team, understand project objectives, review test scenarios / test cases defined by the testers
Participate in all development stand-ups meetings, release and iteration meetings
Test case reviews should focus on exhaustive coverage of all scenarios in the features, introduce / use efficient test techniques
Reduce leakage of bugs
Define and planning test environments ahead of project release dates
Provide inputs to testers on how to write test cases (which test cases should be written and why? Ideally all test cases should detect a bug)
Understand the product completely should be able to predict and define the impact when a change is made (impact analysis)

Define goals for automation (what should be

Technical Skills:(Mandatory)
Very strong on test procedures, processes
Should have used defect management and test management tools extensively
Should be very strong in testing techniques Good skills in working on UNIX / Windows servers
Sound knowledge of writing SQL procedures / queries in Oracle, SQL Server
Good knowledge of tools for scripting (e.g. Perl, Python etc.)

Domain Expertise:(Mandatory)
Sound knowledge of telecom OSS domain (e.g. rating engines, billing systems, fraud management systems, revenue assurance systems)
