Procedure to obtain a license from WPC:
1) File the license application on-line in www.wpc.dot.gov.in in the appropriate category without skipping any steps
2) After filling on-line, Read the Checklist Provided.
3) After filling on-line, take a print out of the application ID.
4) Submit a hard copy of the relevant application form along with a copy of the print out of application ID to WPC office / RLO as the case may be.
5) Follow the subsequent instruction from WPC. Keep a watch on the status of the license application on the Web site.

Applicant Login :
User (Applicant) can register to this Web site and can perform various activities. A Registerd user can file applications for:
** Network Licences
** Non-Network Licenses
** Coordination Licenses
** Certificates
** Type Approval
** Amateur Licenses

SACFA Applications can also be filed by a Registered User. The status of all SACFA cases is available on-line.

The Applications filed can be tracked through this Web Site.

It is adviced that users register to the WPC Web Site once and perform there activities using the same Login ID and Password.

Is the above procedure is uniform for all types of license?

Yes the procedure is same for types of license except for Satellite based licenses. For various satellite licenses, On-line filing is not mandatory. The Hard copy of the relevant application can be submitted at WPC without application ID.

Dear Sirs,
I am holding GMDSS GOC and awaiting for my renewed copy for license. But I m not able to contact on wpc web site to the required office. and still awaiting for my copy. I would like to know how much time it take for renewal of existing GMDSS license. It is already more than 45 days. even calling to public information cell nothing fruitful has come out. Am i required to visit the office for the same, have already forwarded all relevant documents n fee to the office. Even office has received 18 Feb 2012.Please be informed that I m staying at Mumbai. even WPC Regional office Mumbai not responding to my call made atleast 20-30 time but no response from that office, nobody attend phone call. Kindly advise to whom shall I approach for the same.

Please be informed that I am holding GMDSS GOC LICENSE and license have been forwarded for renewal, as my license was expiring on 13 Feb 2013 and forwarded my copy for renewal on 11 Feb 2013 to WPC Delhi which is received by office on 18 Feb 2013. I would like to know how much rupees draft for renewal was required to be sent. as i have forwarded Rs 500/-draft for the same. Kindly intimate is it ok or I have to send more money for the same.

1. A Demand Draft for Rs. 500 from SBI in Favour of 'PAO' (HQ), DOT
2. Draft number
3. Draft date
4. Bank name and Branch name from which Demand Draft is taken

We are planning to import BFD Focus Control System which includes Transmitter. The transmitter specifications is 902-928 MHZ Single frequency. Does it require any license from your for import of the same?

An import license from WPC is required to import any wireless equipment.
