The Government of Tamil Nadu created a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for implementing the Chennai Metro Rail Project. This SPV named as "Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL)" was incorporated on 03.12.2007 under the Companies Act. It has now been converted into a Joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu with equal equity holding. CMRL requires requires efficient, experienced and competent officials for the following posts;

1.Name of the post : General Manager (Operations)
Scale of Pay (IDA pattern) : Rs. 51300-73000
No of posts : 1
Minimum Years Experience : 18
Age : Not exceeding 50 years as on date of advertisement.
Qualifications and Experience :
Must be a Graduate Engineer in Electrical Engineering or Electronics or Communication Engineering or a combination of any of these disciplines. Minimum 18 years overall experience in Main Line Railways with atleast 10 years experience in Electrified Sections with Automatic Signalling System or minimum 8 years overall experience in handling operation in any Metro Railways.

Must have experience in Operation of EMUs, managing Operation Control Centre (OCC),management of EMU Car Sheds in Main Line Railway Division Or experience in Operation of trains in Automatic Signalling territories with Train Management System in Main Railways, for a minimum of 5 years. Should have been involved in managing day to day Railway Operations, Monitoring Train Movements,Punctuality,Time Tabling and Crew Management. Should have good knowledge of all Railway Safety Rules, Accident/Disaster Management and Management of Training of Operating Staff.

Must have adequate experience in handling/managing works and /or service contracts.

2. Name of the post : General Manager (S&T)
Scale of Pay (IDA pattern) : Rs. 51300-73000
No of posts : 1
Minimum Years Experience : 18
Age : Not exceeding 50 years as on date of advertisement.
Qualifications and Experience :
Must be a B.E (ECE) graduate. Additional qualification in Signalling Systems or Communication preferred. Minimum 18 years experience in areas of Signalling / Communication in Metro / High speed Railway. Should also have signalling project experience in tendering, design, installation, testing, commissioning and operations /maintenance of Metro / CBTC, TPWS with electronic interlocking, route relay interlocking having AFTC and other AC/DC track circuit. Experience in tendering, design, installation and commissioning of backbone OFC, copper and other cables, SDH, digital, analogue, HF/VHF, microwave, MUX equipments, TETRA equipment, commissioning of LAN,WAN, server equipments, various types of digital and analogue exchanges, Public Address System, Audio/ Video surveillance systems will be an added advantage.

3.Name of the post : Stenographer
Scale of Pay (IDA pattern) : Rs. 10170-18500
No of posts : 3
Minimum Years Experience : 10
Age limit (Yrs) : 40
Qualifications and Experience :
Must be a Graduate in Arts/Science/Commerce and should have passed Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand by Higher/Lower Grade. Minimum 10 years of experience in shorthand/typewriting field with knowledge of English and Tamil is required. Knowledge of MS Office, Word and Excel is desirable.
Age : Not exceeding 40 years as on date of advertisement.
