PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
- H-INFINITY CONTROLLERS FOR SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS
The project included the speed control of synchronous motors. Previously used controllers were not efficient enough to control the speed and resulted in energy loss due to damped oscillations. H-infinity is used in control theory to synthesize controllers achieving robust performance or stabilization. To use H8 methods, a control designer expresses the control problem as a mathematical optimization problem and then finds the controller that solves this.H-infinity controller eliminates all loses and controls the speed of motors efficiently.
- NUMERICAL RELAYS FOR POWER STATIONS
Numerical relays are micro-processor based relays for over-current and over-voltage protection.
The previously used electro-mechanical relays were not accurate in operating, less reliable and had frictional losses due to moving parts. Modern numerical relays have many new features that were not available in electromechanical or analogue designs. These new features include setting groups, programmable logic, and adaptive schemes.
