VSSC INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP AND RESEARCH ASSOCIATES
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) invites application for JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (JRF) AND RESEARCH ASSOCIATES (RA) tenable at Propellants, Polymers, Chemicals and Materials (PCM) Entity of VSSC from motivated candidates to work in one of the areas, namely, Polymer-derived Ceramics, Speciality Polymers, Nano Materials, Composites, High Energy Materials, Electrochemical Energy Systems, Molecular Modeling, Material characterization etc. under the guidance of Senior Scientists. In the case of JRFs, the research work will lead to Ph.D Degree.

PROJECTS :
- BLDC motor control as final year project- Efficient speed control of electric vehicle can be achieved by using BLDC motor even if back voltage was a big problem we controlled the speed efficiently according to the feedback from motor.
- Worked on Low DC Voltage Regulator- An electrical regulator designed to automatically maintain a constant voltage level.
- Worked on Automated Night Lamp using LDR - This circuit automatically turns on a night lamp when room light is switched off and utilizes light dependent resistors (LDRs) for sensing darkness.
- Efficient waste management system-separation of solid waste.
WORKSHOPS ATTENDED :
- PICtris 2011 - PIC microcontrollers workshop conducted by IEEE students. It was helpful to understand the basics of PIC programming and its applications.
INDUSTRIAL EXPOSURE :
- Bosch, Bangalore – Observed the production unit in the company and they explained the working of different units.
- Videocon, Bangalore -Visited the production unit in the company and the working of different units were explained.
- Attended 4 days in-plant training at United Electrical Industries Ltd-studied the electrical components that were manufactured.
- Attended 3 days in-plant training at Indian Rare Earth Limited- Exposed to the separation of minerals.
- Industrial visit to KEL (Kerala Electrical Ltd) - Observed the production unit in that company and they explained the working of different units.
TECHNICAL SKILLS :
- Programming with AVR and PIC Microcontrollers
- Programming languages : C, C++.
- Mechanical drawing on CADian.
- MATLAB, Proteus, MPLAB, PSPICE
- Operating Systems- Windows
ACHIEVEMENTS :
- Coordinated an event in Imperium’11, a Tech-Fest conducted by EEE department of Amrita School of Engineering.
- An active participant of VIDYUT 2011, a national level multi fest conducted in Amrita School of Engineering.
- Active participation in singing events during Amritakalotsavam, the annual cultural fest held at Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri campus.
- Participated I.Q level competition in state level and won prize.
- A member of Indian Red Cross society.
