Description :

The Sr Staff Test Engineer is responsible for leading a small team of test engineers engaged in testing and quality assurance of embedded networking software solutions. The Engineer has specific, detailed knowledge of the internal operation of Ethernet switching and TCP/IP routing protocols. Test procedures require the test engineer to be able to configure the system under test, configure interoperating switches and routers, understand the details of the various network devices' interaction while protocols operate, obtain and analyze packet traces, and be able to determine whether the test case criteria are met. Additionally the Engineer is required to put forth the overall test strategy for a given product or products, create master test plans, work closely with the Manager of QA and Test to set the strategic direction for the department and to mentor/groom the young engineers in the team. The candidate should be willing to take up new challenges and to drive them to a fruitful end.

Job Requirements :

* Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a software testing environment.
* Strong programming experience in C and TCL
* Strong in communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills.
* Highly motivated self-starter; ability to use own initiative, drive decisions and create direction to the team
* Strong in switching and routing protocol knowledge.
* Utilize traffic generation tools such as IXIA or Spirent.
* Direct experience of working in a software test environment within embedded communications.
* Proven track-record as a networking product tester in a system environment.
* Experience with testing design of complex software features.
* Ability to apply an innovative approach to solve complex testing problems.
* Highly knowledgeable of current industry network equipment testing practices.
* Direct experience with networking products and protocols is strongly preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ ECE, Master's degree a plus.
