GUJARAT FORENSIC SCIENCES UNIVERSITY
M.Phil. Forensic Psychology (MPhil FP)

This course is designed as a rigorous two year full time professional course with extensive practical-theoretical inputs in forensic psychology, clinical psychology, investigative psychology, law, criminology, and related disciplines. This course also includes conducting independent research in one of these areas. After completion of the course a student is expected to have expertise in the areas of:
** Independently can do detailed forensic psychological assessment of civil and criminal cases.
** Can apply psychological principles and techniques for the purpose of providing evidence.
** Working with victims, suspects and convicts from intervention and rehabilitative perspectives.
** Undertaking research in the domain of forensic psychology and related fields.
** Undertaking teaching assignments in forensic psychology and related disciplines.

Duration of course : Two years (regular), divided into four semesters.

Total Number of seats : Nine (9), NRI seats – Three (3)

Tuition Fees : INR 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty thousand) per Semester + other GFSU fees as applicable.
For NRI candidates INR. 1 lakhs (Rs. One Lakh only) per Semester or equivalent US$ + other GFSU fees as applicable.

Entry Requirement : M.A. /M.Sc. degree in Psychology with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST/OBC category, minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Admission procedure : Admission will be on the basis of an entrance examination, consisting of written test of 50 multiple choice questions (1 hr, 100 marks), Shortlisted students will be called for interview. In the entrance examination, the students will be asked questions from general psychology, clinical psychology, social psychology, abnormal psychology, statistics and research methods. List of candidates selected/admitted will be displayed on the website and will be informed through email and also telegraphically.

Demand draft of Rs. 1000/- (non-refundable), in favor of “The Registrar, Gujarat Forensic Sciences University”, payable at Gandhinagar
