JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Machine Design Engineer
Location: Andheri (E), Mumbai, India
Reporting : Will be to Manager of Product Technology based in USA

Responsible for the development of commercially successful Pipe Preparation Tool products. These products include:
New and revised Tool Technology products for Victaulic and its subsidiaries.
A. Development is from inception through steady state production, which often includes:
1. Concept generation.
2. Specific design ideas to satisfy concept(s).
3. Presentation and communication of ideas.
4. Modeling of concept (via drawings and/or hardware).
5. Interfacing with Victaulic Headquarters to refine concept to meet customer requirements.
6. Costing of initial design.

B. Working with Victaulic Headquarters in the execution of detailed design all the way through to the product
being marketed including:
1. Design to meet requirements and manufacturability issues.
2. Detail drawing review and approval
3. Vendor selection participation (in-house or out)
4. Prototyping
5. Testing against requirements
6. Solving design problems
7. Scrutiny and review of detailed cost estimates
8. Participation in design review to assure customer and performance requirements are met
9. Resolving tolerance issues
10. Development of EI/EP's as appropriate
11. Participation in tooling selection
12. Approval of tooling based on samples
13. Participation in evaluation of pilot production runs and problem solving
14. Technical literature drafts and approval
C. Specific policies and procedures have been established by the Engineering Department to provide for the security and accessibility of electronic data and confidential information. It is the responsibility of the employee, in the daily course of doing business, to follow said policies as they relate to document management.

Technical Skills preferred:
SolidEdge, PRO -E, IDEAS
knowledge of:

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering - Mechanical.(preferred)
2. Commercially successful experience in product development involving Tool Technology or related products/processes.
3. Successful project management experience inclusive of taking projects from concept through production.
4. Creative, able to generate concepts with good potential that meet project requirements.
5. Good communication skills in English is required for interacting with Managers based in H.O. USA.
6. Candidate will be required to work independently and should have motivation and discipline to ensure work is as per
company set standards and quality.
