Job Profile :
A civil engineer needs to carefully investigate and study the feasibility of the site on which the building construction will take place. They are also required to make a report based on their analysis and other findings. If there are any concerns that arise, it could also lead to the abandonment of the project.

Once the basic construction plans are laid out, a civil engineer has to consider the feasibility of the project and also analyse other technical aspects. He develops detailed designs along with the architects and has to ensure that all guidelines and other specifications are met.

Construction sites are accident hot spots and it is the duty of a civil engineer to make sure that the site is safe for all workers and managers.

He has to inspect any equipment that is purchased for the project and check it for any faults or other technical issues. Quality checks are required to be performed from time to time. On the other hand, if the purchase of construction materials and equipment is not within the budget, then the engineer has to think of other cost effective alternatives

Labour management is an important part of an engineer’s portfolio because he is required to sort out issues, keep an eye on the team work performed and also ensure that quality work is performed at a uniform pace.

A civil engineer has to make sure that the work is completed by the stipulated deadline date and inform the client about any project delays
