Job Description
The purpose of this position is to create Product design & development (Structural Expert) talent pool at IREC that shall actively participate/support the global engineering, hence in turn support the global growth platforms of IR. This position also aligns Engineering resources to reduce the product development cycle time enabling speed to the projects. This position applies creative and constructive thinking for the benefit of the New Product development,Cost Reduction & Engineering Change projects in the area of structural design for Thermo King Product.
1a. Interaction with Vendors, Advanced engineering to incorporate latest technologies in the area of structural design. Should be capable of designing any structural components on his own considering all design aspects like vibrations, structural reliability, product requirement as per Thermo King design standards.
1b.Interaction with Marketing and variuos functions to undersatnd the requirements,responsible for design&development of structural parts, release of drawings,preparation of BOM for production,interaction with vendors for component development,Validate the design, Co-ordination with manufacturing for production.
2. BOM Change as per engineering change request or development project requirement, advise management of project status through regular reporting procedures, generate project work instructions, instruct / mentor the drafting associates about a specific task.
3. Must demonstrate in depth knowledge of product and component functions required to undertake engineering change requests and new development projects.
4. Direct the efforts of CAD designers to generate drawings and specifications for new products. Assure design documentation meets company standards.

Desired Candidate Profile
-Structural Design Experience -can be in Transport Refrigeration, automobiles,industrial products.
-Knowledge of core mechanical engineering subjects like vibrations, material science, strength of materials, etc. is essential.
-Knowledge of New Product Development process, Cost Reduction Projects.Actual Participation in product development in India/Abroad must, Proficiency in Pro-E, Knowledge in Sheetmetal, Castings, Project Management skills,Strong in Engineering basics,Design calculations, Familiar to tools like- FMEA,Problem solving skills,Hands on experience in Prototype build from manufacturing background(preferable),Exposoure to PLM tools.
-Good written and vocal communication skills, Precise communication,team player, good presentation skills, leadership qualities.Should be comfortable in working with Engineers from different functions and also from a different culture
-Ability to generate ideas, Understands what he/she does,Analytical skills,
-Relationship building with customer, customer focused, ownership to work, ability to lead the team
-Adaptability to changing roles and responsibilities
