For Admission to Msc. Programme in Mathematics and Computing

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) programme in Mathematics and Computing is a new programme starting at PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh (Department of Applied Sciences) on self supporting basis.
The details of the program are as follows :
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM : Two years (regular) comprising of four semesters

INTAKE : 15 students (Gen-11, SC-2, ST-1, PH-1)

ELIGIBILITY :
A candidate must have obtained a recognized Bachelors degree of minimum three years duration (having Mathematics as one of the major subjects) with at least 60 percent marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST and Physically Handicapped category candidates) or an equivalent CGPA.

ADMISSION CRITERION :
Admission shall be granted on the basis of an entrance test (See Annexure for syllabus) to be conducted by PEC University of Technology. The test will be of one hour duration and will consist of multiple choice questions. The candidate shall be required to secure minimum qualifying marks (as decided by the PEC University of Technology) in this test, to be eligible for admission to the programme.

Fee :
Fee of 1000/- (500/- for SC/ST/Physically handicapped candidates) in the form of a demand draft in favour of the Director, PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh.

How to Apply :
i)The application format can be downloaded from the website.
ii)Applications for admission must be filled in candidate’s own handwriting and on the prescribed application form downloaded from the institute website. It must be accompanied by the following documents:
1. Copy of the Date of birth (DOB) certificate or High School (Class X) Certificate with DOB (Required from all candidates)
2. Copy of the SC/ST/PH Category Certificate if applicable
3. Copies of marks/grade sheets of various examinations passed
4. Copy of the Character Certificate from the Institute last attended
5. Copy of the Migration Certificate from the Previous University/Board
6. Demand draft for the application fee
iii)Completed Appliations should be sent to Officer Incharge M.Sc. Admissions of the PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh

Registration in the department of Applied Sciences (compulsory for all newly admitted M.Sc. Students) : 30.07.2012 (Monday) 10.00 am
Commencement of Classes : 01.08.2012 (Wednesday)
