In order to provide for the establishment of an effective system for Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights, Government of India has enacted a legislation viz., Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Act, 2001 (53 of 2001). Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority (PPV & FRA) has been established for the propose of this Act.

Name of the Post : Senior Technical Officer on contract basis

Number of Post : 1

Pay scale : 9,300-34,800 (PB-2) plus grade pay of 4,600/-

Essential :
(i) Post Graduate Degree in Agricultural Science from a recognized University with specification in Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Genetic Resources. Seed Technology, Biotechnology, Agricultural Botany, Agronomy, Horticulture and Forestry.
(ii) Minimum three years experience in Seed Development Programme and Plant Varietal improvement activities, Breeding Plant Genetic resources, Biotechnology in a research institute/reputed organization.

Desirable :
Ph. D. in any of the above subject with research experience in Seed Development Programme, Intellectual Property Rights and Plant Varietal Improvement activities in a research institute/ reputed organization

Age : Not exceeding 30 years
