KARNATAK UNIVERSITY MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR BASIC SCIENCE (KUMSBS)

To promote and encourage basic sciences
To create awareness among students about the careers and opportunities in basic sciences
To popularize basic sciences and scientific methods among students

Applications are invited from interested students who have passed PUC-II year examination in science from Karnataka State and who are willing to take admission for B.Sc. part-in constituent/affiliated colleges of Karnatak University Jurisdiction.

100 fellowships will be awarded for such meritorious students. All such students will receive Rs. 1,000/- per month for 10 months in a year for 3 years, subject to successful completion of the course every year. A special training programme will be conducted in the frontier areas of science for selected candidates

About us

The Bombay legislature of the erstwhile Bombay Presidency established the Karnatak University through the Karnatak University Act 1949. It became a statutory University on 1st March 1950. The jurisdiction of the University covers Bagalkot, Belgaum, Bijapur, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri and Uttar Kannada districts. It has several Post Graduate centres. The university is offering courses in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Education, Law, Management, Science and Technology and Social Sciences.
