Admission to 1-Year
ADVANCED DIPLOMA COURSE IN INDUSTRIAL SAFETY 2012-2013

The Directorate General, Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes invites application in prescribed form for admission to the one year full-time Advanced Diploma Course in Industrial Safety, 2012-2013 to be conducted at its four Labour Institutes, namely, the Central Labour Institute, Mumbai and the three Regional Labour Institutes at Kolkata, Chennai and Kanpur, to be started in the month of June/July, 2012.

Admission Requirements :
a) Recognized Degree or Diploma in any branch of Technology/Engineering or recognized Degree in Physics or Chemistry with:
b) Post basic qualification, practical experience in a supervisory capacity of two years in case of engineering Degree holders and five years in case of Diploma holders in Technology/Engineering and Degree holders in Physics or Chemistry in manufacturing, maintenance or safety department in an industry; or in research, training or education in the field of Industrial Safety, or in a Government Department in administration of any safety legislation; or in building or other construction works or department of port or docks; or construction industry.

Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government Rules.

How to Apply :
Prescribed application form(s) along with the course prospectus may be downloaded from DGFASLI website. The filled in application form(s) along with attested copies of certificates and mark-sheets should reach the
Director (Safety) & in-Charge, Safety Division,
Central Labour Institute,
Sion, Mumbai – 400 022
on or before the last date. Envelope containing the application form should be super - scribed “APPLICATION FOR ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN INDUSTRIAL SAFETY”. The last date of receipt of filled in application form at Central Labour Institute is 01st June, 2012 – 5.00 p.m.

EXAMINATION :
The examination is conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai. The successful candidates are awarded the Diploma by the Board.

CHARGES :
i) Fees : Institute fees (Tuition Fee) @ Rs.6600/- (Rupees six thousand six hundred only) per student for the entire course is to be paid by a crossed demand draft drawn in favour of “Central Labour Institute, Mumbai” at the time of taking admission. The fee once paid is neither refundable nor transferable.
ii) Caution Money : Refundable Deposit of Rs.1100/- (Rupees one thousand one hundred only). This amount should be paid in cash at the time of taking admission.
iii) Hostel Rent : Rs.25/- (Rupees twenty five only) per head per day to be paid in cash for a period of one teaching term in advance.
iv) Enrolment & Examination Fee : To be paid by the candidates to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Examinations, as and when required by the Board.

I have completed my postgraduate diploma course on occupational safety and
health at workplace jointly organized by International Training Centre of
International Labour Organization and University Of Turin [Italy] on 23rd march
2012. Can you guide me how I can register as osh specialist in DGFASLI. I have
already completed AFIH Certificate course in 2007 and my registration no in
DGFASLI is 954.
