What is Endurance Test?
Answer : At first instance Physical Fitness will be tested by making the candidates run 1600 mtrs. as Endurance Test. For direct candidates 1600 mtrs. run within 7 min. is fixed and for In-service/Women/Ex-servicemen candidates 400 mtrs. run in 2 min. is fixed. If they complete this Endurance Test, the candidates become eligible for further tests.

What is the height prescribed for the PSI Post?
Answer : All male candidates should possess a minimum height of 168 cms. and all women candidates shall have minimum height of 157 cms.

Who conducts the Endurance Test and the Physical Standard Test?
Answer : A committee comprising Inspector General of Police / Deputy Inspector General of Police rank officers nominated by the Director General & Inspector General of Police will conduct the Endurance Test and Physical Standard Test.

Whether the candidates who have failed in Endurance Test and Physical Standard Test go on appeal?
Answer : No. Candidates cannot go on appeal if they fail in Endurance Test & Physical Standard Test. The test conducted by the Recruitment Committee is final and no other certificates issued by any other Medical officers will be considered.

Whether marks will be given for the Endurance Test and Physical Standard Test?
Answer : No. These tests are conducted only to find the eligibility of candidates to participate in further recruitment process.

Can a candidate participate in the Endurance Test and the Physical Standard Test at two different centres?
Answer : Candidate should attend the Endurance Test and the Physical Standard Test at only one centre. If the candidate is found attending at two different centres his/her candidature will be rejected for further recruitment process.

Whether the Endurance Test can be completed in any sequence?
Answer : No. This has to be completed in the sequence in which it is prescribed by the Department i.e. first 1600 mtrs. run, then Long jump or High jump and then Shot put.

Can a candidate produce the certificates obtained from other doctors if he/she has failed in Endurance Test and Physical Standard Test?
Answer : No. The certificates which are issued by the doctors nominated by the recruitment committee are only considered. The certificates which are issued by other doctors will not be considered.

What are the eligibility criteria required to be eligible for written test?
Answer : The candidate should pass both the Endurance Test & the Physical Standard Test fixed by recruitment committee to be eligible for written test.

In which language will the question paper be for written examination?
Answer : Written examination question papers will be in both Kannada and English languages.

In which language will the written examination be answered?
Answer : The candidates can answer the written examination either in Kannada or in English.

What are the maximum marks fixed for the question papers for the post of Police Sub-Inspector?
Answer : There will be two papers in the written examination carrying 200 marks. Paper-I shall consist of 2 parts. First Part consists of essay writing carrying 20 marks and Precis writing carrying 10 marks. The Second Part consists of translation from English to Kannada and Kannada to English carrying 20 marks. In total Paper-I carries 50 marks and shall be of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration. Paper- II shall consists of questions on General Studies, General Mental Ability and Moral Education. It shall carry 150 marks. It shall be Objective type with multiple choices and is of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration.

What do you mean by Medical Examination? In this what type of Medical examination be conducted?
Answer : Provisionally selected candidates shall have to appear for a medical examination before a medical board at the time and place decided by the Selection Authority. In this examination Vision test, Hearing test, test for Varicose veins, Impediment in speech and Chest-xray examination will be conducted.

How much marks will be deducted for wrong answers to Objective type questions?
Answer : 25% of marks will be deducted for wrong answers to Objective type questions.
