PROJECT
TOPIC : Boiler Drum level & Combustion Control using DCS
Industry : BPCL Kochi Refinery.
The project is basically an in-depth study of the two main control systems that is found in a boiler, vis-à-vis, the drum level control system & combustion control system. The two systems comprise complex control loops which are essentially controlled by a DCS( Distributed Control System). Drum level control can be two element or three element control which is suitably controlled by varying different parameters in the DCS according to the need. In two element control, drum level & steam flow is being controlled. In three element an addition of feedwater flow control is made with two element control. Combustion control is done by controlling air flow & fuel flow. All this controlling is made by varying the necessary parameters in the DCS.
- SEMINAR Topic : Carbon nanotube flow sensor
The flow of a liquid on single-walled carbon nanotube bundles induces a voltage in the sample along the direction of the flow. This work highlights the device potential of nanotubes as sensitive flow sensors and for energy conversion.
