Job Description
-Provides the functional support and assistance to the Companyâs assets, regarding the preparation of major maintenance works, (repairs or modifications) with respect to heating, ventilation, air conditioning & refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment installed on the offshore platforms.
-Reviews the Companyâs existing HVAC&R equipment installed Offshore (paying particular attention to safety systems) & determines that which can continue to be maintained & that which will require replacing due to condition or obsolescence.
-Raises project proposals for equipment requiring replacement with a preliminary Scope of Work plus applicable Industry Standards required. Subsequently presents those same proposals for Management approval.
-In conjunction with the Maintenance Planning section, ensures that all HVAC&R related activities are planned & that the Roles & Responsibilities of the various personnel involved are known.
-Ensures the progress and completion of these activities under his responsibility. He will be expected to be on-site & oversee any major HVAC&R maintenance activities to ensure that the work & quality are to the standard specified.
-Provides technical assistance to the Procurement / Materials Departments in identifying existing spares stored in the Companyâs various warehouses.
-Reviews on a periodic basis all ventilation, air conditioning refrigeration spares and materials in stock and initiates the creation of new items and the deletion / write off of obsolete / redundant items when required.
-Participates in inputting data into Sonangolâs SAP based Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) concerning HVAC&R equipment technical details
-Is responsible for issuing HVAC&R preventive maintenance routines, ensuring that these are entered into the CMMS & that the related work orders are issued in accordance with the Preventative Maintenance plan.
-Reviews & updates HVAC&R Technical documentation, ensuring that copies are available in the Companyâs Engineering Technical Library
-With respect to new projects, he assists the Companyâs Engineering Dept in assessing the suitability of various HVAC&R Contractor proposals regarding equipment suitability & maintainability plus associated spare parts requirements.
-As required, assists the Companyâs Contracts Dept in issuing the Scope of Work for the HVAC&R Maintenance Contracts & assists in Tender Bid Evaluation.
-Is responsible for monitoring HVAC&R Maintenance Contracts, ensuring that the work & manpower supplied by the Contractor is to a standard acceptable to the Company.
-Is involved (with others) in training / mentoring programs regarding the career development of young National HVAC&R Engineers and Technicians.
Desired Candidate Profile
-Graduated Engineer with HVAC&R background, having at least 10 years experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably with a number of years offshore.
-Must have recognized & valid Safety Training certification concerning H2S, Offshore Survival and Helicopter Underwater Escape.
