IIT Kharagpur invites applications from Indian Nationals for following posts on contract basis to fill the backlog reserved vacancies for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs):

**Junior Technician - 11 posts (SC - 3, ST - 7 and OBCs – 1)
Pay Band : ` 5200-20200/- (PB-1) with Grade Pay ` 2000/- and other allowances as admissible.
Qualification & Experience : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 pattern) in Chemistry / Physics / Geology & Geophysics / Mathematics / Bio Science or equivalent OR Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field. Wiremen License / Permit issued by Chief Electrical Inspector / Competent Authority of respective State is essential for candidates with electrical specialization.
Desirable : Experience and knowledge in computer application, electronic instruments, repairing & maintenance and handling of sophisticated instruments.

**Junior Laboratory Assistant - 8 posts (SC – 3 and ST – 5)
Pay Band : ` 5200-20200/- (PB-1) with Grade Pay ` 2000/- and other allowances as admissible.
Qualification & Experience : Bachelors Degree (10+2+3 pattern) in Chemistry / Physics / Geology & Geophysics / Mathematics / Bio Science or equivalent OR Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field.
Desirable - Experience and knowledge in computer application, electronic instruments, repairing & maintenance and handling of sophisticated instruments.

**Junior Assistant - 5 posts (SC – 1, ST – 3 and OBCs – 1)
Pay Band : ` 5200-20200/- (PB-1) with Grade Pay ` 2000/- and other allowances as admissible.
Qualification & Experience : Graduate in any discipline (10+2+3 pattern), Computer key depression speed equivalent to 40 WPM, knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel etc., exposure to Office procedure like maintenance of Files, Noting, Drafting etc. are essential.

Age Limit : Upper age limit is 35 years for SC/ST and 33 years for OBCs candidates.

Fee : No fee.
